Attractions

Malta is a set of beautiful islands set amidst the lush Mediterranean. The mainland houses the vibrant capital city Valletta, which boasts fabulous cathedrals and palaces.

 

Gozo boasts of the famous Ulysses Calypso's Cave and the magnificent Ggantija temple. From the wave splashing cliffs to the view of the whole island from Gran Costello, Gozo is a definite must see.

 

Other places to visit in Malta are Mdina with its aristocratic charm and museums and Hagar Qim with its ancient temples and picturesque scenery.

 
Travel/Roads

Road: Drive on the left hand side of the road.
Driving Age: 18
Seat belts: It is illegal not to wear a seat belt both front and if fitted in the back.

Always carry your driving license and relevant vehicle documents with you.  It is also compulsory for all vehicles to have a Warning Triangle In Malta.

 

Children under 12 years or under 150cm are not allowed to travel in front seats unless secured by either safety belts or with a safety approved car seat.

 

General driving is on the left with overtaking on the right. Be extra cautious near roundabouts and observe all road signs.

Speed limits:
Built-up areas: 40 kph (25 mph)                  

Major roads outside towns: 64 kph (40 mph
